JourneyLand World Design note: Students are introduced to Courage and the purpose of the AR activity. This orients the learner to the environment and prepares them to begin the Quest for Attributes Adventure.
“Welcome, Traveler! I'm Courage, and today we begin your Quest for Attributes. Growing your character takes bravery. Start by exploring JourneyLand and finding the Emphasis Tree. Our adventure starts at the bottom, just like real growth.”
— Courage
Design note: Students examine the outside of Excellence's home. Visual clues show how Excellence appears in daily life: neatness, care, effort. Students tap hotspot areas before entering.
“Before we go in, look around. Excellence shows up in how we prepare, how we care for our spaces, and how we try our best. Tap the glowing spots to see how Excellence begins on the outside.”
— Courage
Daily Life Zone Design note: Students explore what Excellence looks like at home. Hotspots reveal examples such as completing chores, organizing tools, practicing a hobby, and showing consistency.
“Welcome inside! Here, Excellence is practiced every day. A tidy room, tools ready for learning, reminders to stay focused. Tap each hotspot to see how Excellence grows at home.”
— Courage
Design note: Students learn how navigation works: locked icons will not open until previous steps are completed. Excellence is the first available doorway. Students must enter through this doorway to begin the quest.
“Here it is, the Emphasis Tree! Each doorway teaches a new attribute. Only the Excellence doorway is open for you right now. Any icon that's dark is locked until your earlier steps are done. Enter Excellence to continue your quest.”
— Courage
School Actions Zone Design note: Students explore Excellence in a school context. They pick examples of excellent behavior and receive immediate feedback if they choose incorrectly.
“Now explore Excellence in school. Turning in work on time, staying organized, participating, and using feedback all show this attribute.”
— Courage
Reflection Zone Design note: Students reflect on where they have shown Excellence in real life. They choose from four interactive prompts.
“You've explored Excellence in home and school; now think about YOU. Tap a prompt to share when you've shown Excellence. It can be something small or something big. Your voice matters.”
— Courage
Badge Zone Design note: Students learn how mastery, points, and badges work. They drag-and-drop examples of excellent behavior to raise their badge meter.
“When you practice Excellence, you earn progress on your badge. Drag each example to the badge bar.”
— Courage
Growth Zone Design note: Courage explains what earning the badge means and how it connects to the overall journey towards growth and improvement. Learners unlock the next attribute level for future lessons.
“You did it! You earned Excellence points towards your Badge. These points show that you understand the attribute and can recognize it in real life. Your next character door is now unlocked; on to the next attribute quest! Great work, Traveler!”
